Jean Reno and Jean-Marc Barr star in this drama directed by Luc Besson. Enzo Molinari (Reno) and Jacques Mayol (Barr) grew up together and both became expert freedivers. Enzo, now a world champion, persuades Jacques to return to competitive no-limits freediving so that he can prove he is still better than his old friend.

However, when Jacques beats him, a rivalry develops between them which soon turns obsessive and dangerous. The cast also includes Rosanna Arquette, Griffin Dunne and Sergio Castellitto.
