In 'Scream' (1996), set in the small American town of Woodsboro, California, a psychotic masked killer with a love of horror movies murders teenager Casey Becker (Drew Barrymore). As a media circus descends on the town, the killer begins terrorising Casey's high school classmate, Sidney Prescott (Campbell), whose mother was murdered a year earlier.
When Sidney encounters the stalker and escapes, her boyfriend Billy (Skeet Ulrich) is arrested on suspicion of murder.
