Halle Berry and Billy Bob Thornton star in this drama directed by Marc Forster. Leticia Musgrove (Berry) is struggling in the aftermath of her husband's execution while former prison officer Hank Grotowski (Thornton) is grieving the loss of his son. They meet and begin a relationship but Leticia, who experiences further tragedy and hardship, remains unaware of the fact that Hank oversaw the execution of her husband.
