A man's body is found in a Welsh river and Cadi and Vaughan are called to investigate. Cadi realises that she has to face facts that she's hurt someone important to her and that starts to impact on her ability to investigate this murder. Deep in the mountains the investigation gathers pace as the sad truth about the building body counts emerges with two innocent murder and three lives ruined. DCI John is informed that a body has been found at a remote petrol station outside Ffestiniog, suspecting the worst, Cadi issues a warrant for an arrest, but all efforts to trace her suspect continue to fail.
